When kids head back to school, there are a lot fewer days outside playing than in the summer months. This is a perfect time to start Organizing Kids Outdoor Toys since many will need to be stored for the winter months. Keeping your kids active is always important, but keeping their outdoor toys safely stored is part of that.
Organizing Kids Outdoor Toys
Repair Or Discard Broken Items: Over the course of the summer many items may have been worn out with play. This is the time to gather up all of your kids outdoor toys and not only organize them, but throw out the broken items. Bent hula hoops, balls with holes and pools that are broken or have leaks should all be thrown out. If you can’t quickly and easily repair them, get rid of them. Items that haven’t been used or have been outgrown can be donated or sold as desired.
Keep Bicycles & Ride On Toys Under Cover: One thing that is important for keeping them safe and in good shape is to store your kids outdoor toys under cover or in bins. Being out in the various weather conditions only breaks them don faster. Bicycles and other ride on toys should be stored under cover. If possible keep in your garage. If not, invest in tarps or make room for them in your outside shop or shed.
Invest In An Outside Storage Bin: There are nice heavy duty outdoor storage bins that are perfect for string your kids outdoor toys in. They can fit nicely against the back of your house, and they have easy to lift lids so your kids can find what they want and store items away easily when done.
Install Hooks In Garage: There are many great hooks out there for storing your bikes, small swimming pool storage or other various pieces of outdoor equipment can go a long way toward keeping not only your kids outdoor toys, but your garage organized.
Use A Hammock For Balls: For all of the balls and random items that need to be stored during off seasons, a large hammock is a great item to hang from the ceiling of your garage. Simply hang and toss balls into it until next season.
No matter what storage methods you choose, organizing your kids outdoor toys will keep things in good shape longer, and keep your yard from being over run with toys year round. Teach your kids to put their things away when they are done playing, and you’ll see this organization method in tact for years to come.
