We have tackled the task of your kids bedrooms, so now we move on this week to Organizing Your Kids Bathrooms. Not everyone has a separate bathroom from their children, but these tips can help with shared bathrooms too. A few simple additions to the bathroom can make things cleaner, easier and more kid friendly.
Organizing Your Kids Bathrooms
Put Hazards Out Of Reach: Before we even begin to look at how to organize the overall bathroom, we have to stress that putting things that could harm your children out of reach is important. Medications and first aid should be stored in a high locked cabinet they can’t reach. Cleaning products and chemicals should be stored in locked cabinets out of their reach. This is standard whether they have their own bathroom or are sharing yours.
Hang A Bow Organizer: If you have a little girl who puts a lot of bows in her hair, you know how quickly those can clutter up a bathroom counter or drawer. Grab a simple hair bow strip to hang them on. You can put this on the wall, or save space and hang on the back of the door.
Color Coordinate Towels, Washcloths & Toothbrushes To Child: One of the best ways to organizer your kids bathroom is to coordinate by colors. With multiple kids going in and out of the bathroom, it is a must to assign them each towels, washcloths and toothbrushes they will always know are theirs. Color coding is the easiest way to do this. Assign each child their own color and carry that them with everything from their towel to their hairbrush or toothbrush.
Use Bath Toy Organizers: When you have little ones taking baths and playing with toys, this is a must. We love the simple suction cup baskets that hang on the side of the bath or shower, but the suction cup hammock style organizers are nice too. This keeps those toys dry and clean when not in use all while keeping them out from under foot.
Create A Cleaning Schedule: Some things may be left to mom or dad to complete until kids are old enough, but others can begin early. Wiping down counters, emptying trash and cleaning mirrors can be handled by even the younger kids in the house. Create a cleaning schedule to keep everything top notch year round.
Organizing your home this year doesn’t have to take hours and thousands of dollars. A few simple tricks can have your home feeling much more streamlined. Taking the clutter out of your home and organizing your kids bathrooms is just one of the many ways we plan to help you get control of your house organization this year.
