Here’s a quick run-down of my favorite workouts to do when I have an hour or more to spend in a gym. I like to work quickly and keep moving so I keep a lot of different options in mind. I don’t like to wait for equipment. When I workout at gym I never know what equipment I’ll have to share or wait for so it’s important to me that I have several options and that I’m able to adapt quickly so I don’t waste any time. My overall goal is to keep moving and try to do as much as possible in a short amount of time. Here are some of the ideas I usually have when walking in to my gym:
Cardio: Run/Walk/Bike/Swim:
- Warm-Up: 0-5 Minutes
- Comfortable Speed: 20-30+ Minutes
- Cool Down: 0-5 minutes Minutes
20-30 Minutes of Weight or Resistance Training:
- 10 Rep 2x on the Circuit (if available) -or-
- 10 Squats 3x
- 10 Bench Press (or Free Weights w Stability Ball) 3x
- Accessory Lifts
- Abs w Stability Ball -or-
- Resistance Training- Stability Ball Exercises
10 Minutes of Stretching
- Arms
- Legs
- Back
