Salmon Cakes with Lemon Herb Sauce made with Ingredients from Market District

If you are a looking for a unique shopping experience with a wide array of gourmet and unique food offerings, you must check out the new Market District store located in Carmel, Indiana. Market District features a wide array of gourmet prepared foods, a sweets shop, bulk foods, a cheese shop, and a complete beer, wine, and liquor department. With the parking lot almost entirely full and two kids in tow, we almost passed on visiting this store. Don’t be afraid as it is a vast 120,000 square foot store with plenty of room to move about and many friendly employees willing to help you in every department of this first of its kind store in Indiana.

New Market District

Market District is an incredible store that you will not want to miss. We headed in to purchase ingredients to make Salmon Cakes with a Lemon-Herb Sauce but left with a few new favorites. When I found fresh grouper in the seafood department, it was a must purchase since fresh grouper is a rarity in central Indiana.

Market District Seafood Department

You will find a full service meat and seafood department at Market District. As a first of its kind at any Market District location, any meat or seafood item that you purchase can be prepared right in the store for no additional fee. This is helpful if you are wanting to try a new cut of meat or seafood and aren’t exactly sure how to prepare it.

Seafood Department at Fresh Market

Market District also offers a vast selection of local products with more than 100 organic fruits and vegetables. There are so many fresh offerings available in this store. We picked up some parsley, dill, and prepared stuffed mushrooms as part of our shopping trip.

Offering the best of unique and everyday food, at Market District, you will be inspired to try new and exciting things. Python, anyone? Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think! I was inspired to create this Salmon Cakes recipe with Lemon-Herb sauce with ingredients I found at Market District. This recipe is one that can be prepared ahead of time as a freezer meal to make for a quick and easy meal or party appetizer. The lemon-herb sauce is simple to make and adds so much to this recipe.

Remember, I mentioned earlier this recipe was freezer friendly! After forming the salmon cakes into patties, place on baking sheet and freeze until firm. Then wrap in plastic wrap and put in a freezer bag. Simply thaw in your refrigerator the night before you wish to cook. You will now have a simple yet elegant meal on hand.
