This week I was trying to a use a free coupon for a Peppermint Mocha from my local McDonald’s. I was sad to find out they are out of season now. However, they did substitute a caramel mocha. Still, I crave the peppermint!
One of my lovely Facebook Fans reminded me of this DIY Peppermint Mocha from Amy Clark (MomAdvice.com.) She is a Indiana gal and we’ve met up a few times at events and conferences and I remember her telling me about her coffee experimentations. She also has a brand new released book called “The Good Life for Less: Giving Your Family Great Meals, Good Times, and a Happy Home on a Budget.” It is around $10 on Amazon right now. I will save that by making just 3 fancy coffees at home!
Let me tell ya, this recipe does not disappoint. I was able to make this in less than 10 minutes, which for me is less time than it would take for me to drive to a coffee shop and drive back home. Plus, it is just a fraction of a price. Did I say it was super easy?
You need coffee, milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and peppermint syrup to make this recipe. I had all of these things in the house. You don’t need a fancy coffee machine as I was able to do it with my regular brewer and I made my steamed milk by shaking it in a jar for about 30 seconds and then warming up in the microwave for 45 seconds.
