Old Fashioned Apple Crisp
With their sweet and juicy flavor and satisfying crunch, apples are a staple snack around here–we eat them all year long. When fall rolls around, however, we enjoy them even more. After all, any bargain hunter knows that you have to stock up on seasonal fruits and vegetables when they are on sale!

Of course, this means that I often have to find new ways to prepare them to keep my family from getting bored of eating the same old fruit over and over again. Enter: Old Fashioned Apple Crisp.

Old Fashioned Apple Crisp

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Apples
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 3/4 cup uncooked Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Butter, cold

Instructions

  1. Peel, core and slice apples.
  2. Preheat oven to 375.
  3. Layer apples into baking dish.
  4. Mix together flour, brown sugar, oats and cinnamon in a bowl.
  5. Add in vanilla and cut in butter with a pastry blender or fork.
  6. Work until mixture forms large crumbs.
  7. Sprinkle over apples.
  8. Bake 30-35 minutes or until topping is browned and apples are soft.
