See Puerto Rico: Beautiful Beaches, Delicious Food, and Adventure

May 2, 2014 by Briana Carter

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puerto Rico, The All-Star Island for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Puerto Rico is one of the many islands on my travel bucket list! One of my Facebook friends is from this beautiful island and I'm always completely jealous when I see her posting pictures of her trips. Puerto Rico is a 5-star vacation destination filled with world class attractions. It has everything that you want in a nice relaxing vacation. Just hop on a plane and go as there is no passport required to get to these stunning beaches.

I'm going to pretend for a bit. Will you pretend along with me and Live your own 5-star vacation story in Puerto Rico.  There is something for everyone in Puerto Rico.

For me, I love vegging at the beach. Puerto Rico has 270 miles of coastline and is featured in the Top 10 beaches from the Travel Channel, including Flamenco Beach in Culebra, which is often cited as one of the best beaches in the world. I'm totally in for the beaches!

If you are more into adventure, then you can enjoy horseback riding or the magnificent Camuy caverns that run through the third largest subterranean river in the world. You can also visit the bioluminescent bays and glow like an angel. The water luminescence is triggered by dinoflagellates, oceanic plankton which enables it to generate an emerald green illumination when the water is physically disturbed, which sounds like something you absolutely have to see.

For history buffs, visit the charming city of San Juan. It was once the crown jewel of the Spanish Empire in the Americas. This walled city still preserves its stunning colonial architecture from imposing fortresses to brightly colored buildings.

If food is more your interest, you can experience the delicacies of Puerto Rican cuisine. It has a mixture of Spanish, European, African, North American, and South and Central American influence, which makes it a tasty blend of all of these cuisines. Oh, and don't forget to try to the Rum!

You can visit the only rainforest under US National Park Service, El Yunque, and climb to the clouds. Want to get even more inspired? Watch this video and start planning your Puerto Rico vacation at seepuertorico.com:

Not only is no passport required but you can simply use U.S. Dollars on this trip! No conversions to worry about during this relaxing trip!
