Someone in my Facebook stream posted a link to this today and I had to share with my readers as it is a scary thought. I’m hesitant to post this as it also alerts weirdos that they can do this but people also need to know that it should be turned off.
If you have a cell phone, take photos, and post them online, you need to watch this video. This is truly frightening. Seriously. I just turned my location services off for my photos, which I didn’t even know was turned on. This should by default be turned OFF, IMO! I do think it could be a handy feature when traveling as a record of where you took your photos. However, you don’t want or need this when you are in your own home or places that you frequent on a regular basis.
Technology can be a great tool but it is also opening ourselves up to a whole new world of danger. I tried several of my own photos I had posted online and I can’t see any GPS information on them so hopefully I have mine set up correctly or I am just not a good enough of a stalker – lol!

I saw this too. You need to change settings on ipod touches also if your kids use them and post pictures. A little different procedure but does the same thing.

I did that for my son’s ipod today!
