If you’ve never tried any homemade ice cream recipes before, this easy ice cream recipe is a great one to start with. You don’t need any weird or special ingredients or equipment–just heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, and gelatin–and the process for making this recipe is pretty easy as well. Your kids could even help you with this one.
While this recipe calls for lime and orange gelatin, there’s no reason you can’t mix up the flavors either. In fact, you could make different versions using a variety of different jello recipes each time. Who knows what interesting flavor combinations you’ll come up with? Ingredients
- 2 cup Heavy Cream
- 14 oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 small box Lime Gelatin
- 1 small box Orange Gelatin
Instructions
- Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Beat in condensed milk until well blended.
- Spread about 1/5 of cream mixture in loaf pan.
- Top with 1/2 of orange gelatin powder.
- Top with another 1/5 of cream mixture.
- Top with 1/2 of lime gelatin powder.
- Top with another 1/5 of cream mixture.
- Top with 1/2 of orange gelatin powder.
- Top with another 1/5 of cream mixture.
- Top with 1/2 of lime gelatin powder.
- Top with remaining of cream mixture.
- Place in freezer for at least 5 hours.
