{Now Closed} Walgreens Wellness Basket ($100 Value) Giveaway

December 7, 2011 By: Briana Carter

It’s that season again – Flu Season! It normally coincides with the busiest travel period of the year. According to the Walgreens Flu Impact report, the flu interrupted more than 3 million vacationers last season.

Not only does Flu Season affect fun trips but it also affects day to day life! Last Flu Season, there were over 100 million work days lost due to flu-related illnesses and around 32 million school days missed. This is quite a bit of time! In our house, it seems like if one person gets it, it often spreads around to the rest of the household.

To keep you and your children healthy, Walgreens is giving one lucky Bargain Briana a Walgreens Wellness Basket. It has around a $100 worth of Walgreens goodies including cough drops, vitamins,  thermometer, hand sanitizer, and a Walgreens Flu Shot gift card.

This will come in handy already because last night I started to feel that tickle in my throat as I was **trying** to go to sleep. Unfortunately, moms don’t usually get days “off,” so I usually just suffer through it! I’m sure many of you do as well!

Okay, so let’s discuss the giveaway details…

How to Win?

Prize: Walgreens Wellness Basket ($100 value)

You can enter up to 4 times with the following methods:

1. Leave a comment: How many days off work/school/etc do you think you miss due to the flu?

**If you are reading in an email or a feed reader, you must click over to enter this giveaway. Entries via email are not accepted.

2. Subscribe to my FREE newsletter. You must confirm your email for a valid entry. If you are already a subscriber, leave a comment letting me know you are already getting the bargains in your inbox!

3.  Become a Facebook Liker of Bargain Briana.

Please leave a comment for each additional entry.

Giveaway ends on December 13, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Winner will be chosen by random. Be sure bargainbriana@gmail.com is in your safe sender list as you don’t want to miss the email if you are the chosen winner. Winner must respond to email within 48 hours or a new winner will be chosen. U.S. Entries only. Alternate entry: Mail a postcard with the giveaway you are entering along with your name, address, and email to PO Box 14, Tipton, IN 46072.

**Please note: The companies have 6-8 weeks to ship prizes.

I’ve been very lucky the past few years and haven’t missed any work days due to flu. I’m sure it’s because I always get a flu shot, wash my hands a lot, and use a lot of hand sanitizer.

I’ve never been diagnosed with the flu, but do seem to feel ill or like I’m coming down with something every couple of weeks, all winter long. I often take a day off to rest at the onset of symptoms with hope that it’ll keep the worst of it at bay – so that probably amounts to four days or so between November and February. Ilk.

Total I would say that about 25 days (WOW) are missed in this household during flu season. I cant believe i just admitted to that! It of course cant hit all 3 of my kids at once, they each get it seperatly, so there is missed school hours and times, my husband will battle with it trying to cover it up secretly to not let me know he is sick, but then when i find out i make him stay home from work and rest, which as a guy he hates to do! And I am the mommy who is not allowed to take sick days so, but i do however get it first it seems like and is the last person to feel better :( I hate flu season! My 3 kiddos all get the shot each year but it seems to either get to them before we have a chance to get the shot or the shot fails us :( We surely couldl use this basket, help our routines stay on track this year, and not all curled up on the couch or in the bathroom :)

We usually don’t get the real flu. It’s usually bronchitis, ear infections, strep, viruses….that get us. I usually miss about 5 days in the winter with my kids sick. It’s usually my youngest. When she gets sick, she’ll spike a high fever for days. :(

  153. Jennifer Taylor says

I’m typically down 2 days when I get the flu. If it goes through each of my 4 kids, we could be looking at a week & a half.
