TCM Kick off: The Family Classics this Sunday!

December 4, 2008 by Briana Carter

The Turner Classic Movie Channel is kicking off its Family Classics THIS Sunday, December 7. Over the next 4 weeks, over 25 family classic Disney movies will be aired. You don’t want to miss this. Films such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), Freaky Friday (1976), The Parent Trap (1961), The Love Bug (1968), Treasure Island (1950), The Shaggy Dog (1959) and Swiss Family Robinson (1960), as well as Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971). In addition to these great classics, A brand new original documentary entitled THE AGE OF BELIEVING: THE DISNEY LIVE-ACTION CLASSICS narrated by Angela Landsbury will be aired on December 14th.

Many of these classic movies, I’m embarrassed to say, I’ve never watched before. I am excited to share The Parent Trap & Swiss Family Robinson with my children. Those are two of my family classic favorites. So set your TIVO or cuddle up on the couch with a warm fuzzy blanket this Sunday.

I love the parent trap. We actually have Bedknobs and Broomsticks and my 5 year old likes it.

A lot of those movies are some of my favorites. I grew up watching them, and I have most of them on DVD to watch with my kids. My favorites from Sunday are Parent Trap, Swiss Family Robinson, and Pollyanna.
